This weekend I had the opportunity to do a dive on a wreck called the “Miller Light” which I haven’t been on before (video below).
Dan Volker was with us in the Bahamas and helped capture some great footage of the sea trials of the new Triton 3300/3 submarine. He made this beautiful video from the trip.
To get your first morning break this Monday morning I suggest that you enjoy this little snippet of a film from the dive days with the Triton submarine in the Bimini waters from back in 2009. It’s just a short film at 1:42 so I think you can be afforded that break.
Brownie’s Marine Group wishes everybody a very fantastic and happy New Year. We hope you have entered well and in style and wish you the best year ever.
As mentioned in an earlier post, we were recently supporting the sea trials of the new Triton 3300/3 submarine in the deep waters of the Bahamas.
During the days of these sea trials we managed to capture a bunch of photos and quiet a bit of videos too. Personally, I was happy to make my way way there for a few of the days and was very glad to partake in the event.
Here is the first of the videos that came out of the trip.
As we come to the last day of the year, I was looking through some of the video footage that I just recently offloaded from one of my small pocket video cameras and I came upon this footage of a very cool boatbuilder display from the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (also known as FLIBS).
The display has had its presence at this show for at least a couple of years, but I enjoy it every time I see it. It really works (and of course this video does not really do it justice) and it always draws a lot of positive attention from the crowd – just check out the little kid in the video below.
It’s a great set up consisting of great boat models resting on large computer screens put together that shows continuous wakes in the water as if made by the boat models. I thought you might enjoy it too.
Happy New Year.
PS. Stay tuned for videos from the very recent sea trials of the new Triton Submarine filmed in the Bahamas.
The West Marine Superstore in Fort Lauderdale opened up earlier this week. Below is a coupon for $15 off your next purchase of US$100 or more (certain conditions apply).

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., November 17th, 2011 — For many years Brownie’s Marine Group, Inc. (OTCBB:BWMG), a leading developer, manufacturer and distributor of highly specialized dive and safety products has had a great collaboration with several West Marine Stores, especially throughout Florida. This collaboration expanded effectively with the soft opening of the biggest boating store in the U.S., the new West Marine Superstore located at 2401 S. Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316 earlier this week.
To celebrate the opening West Marine is offering coupons worth $15 off your next purchase of $100 or more (certain conditions apply). To receive a coupon go to this link: West Marine Superstore Coupon.
In further and related news, Brownie’s CEO, Mr. Robert Carmichael, recently had the chance to visit with several other West Marine stores along his route from the two recent Annapolis Boat Shows at which Brownie’s Marine Group exhibited, including stores located outside Florida. It is expected that Brownie’s Marine Group representations will soon open up in these too in foreseeable future.
Mr. Carmichael intentionally made the trip to the two Annapolis Boat Shows by car so he could bring with him full load of the incredibly well received new Brownie’s VS Thing Lung Systems and so that he could visit with new potential dealerships on the way back to Fort Lauderdale. These visits proved promising for soon to come point of sales of Brownie’s Marine Group products. Incidentally the full load of the VS Third Lung systems sold out at the Annapolis Boat Shows.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., November 15th, 2011 — Building on previous years’ collaboration Brownie’s Marine Group, Inc. (OTCBB:BWMG), a leading developer, manufacturer and distributor of highly specialized dive and safety product and Triton Submarines a leading manufacturer and developer of submarines teamed up as strategic partners at the recent Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIPS) where the new 3300/3 Triton Submarine was introduced and the Brownie’s VS was showcased.
Interest for the unexplored realm of the world below the surface is rapidly growing and these two products present some of the best avenues available for doing so. The VS is the new revolutionary all battery-powered surface supplied air diving system that Brownie’s has spent three years developing. This is the ultimate diving system particularly suited for the family and recreational diving. The system vastly surpasses every performance compared with other battery-powered systems on the market and comes at a price point often lower than systems it is often compared to.
The Triton 3300/3 met its first introduction at the FLIBS this year (Image above shows the 3300/2 Triton). It has been specially designed to be able to take 3 passengers in utmost comfort to a depth of just about 3300 feet. The special design makes for essentially panoramic view from comfortable sitting position in air conditioned climate at pressure equal to the pressure we have at the surface, thus eliminating any need for decompression. The submarine comes with easy maneuvering handled with a joy stick and touch-screen controls and its size and dimensions have been specially designed by probably the most experienced submarine team to be able to be usable with private yachts. The special design also allows for entry and exit of passengers resting on the surface, where as many other designs require the submarine to be hoisted up onto the deck of a vessel, an operation that takes a considerable amount of extra time and expense.
The visitors at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show showed great interest in both products and several Brownie’s VS were sold and several highly interested potential clients signed up for upcoming demonstrations of the Triton submarine. As usual Brownie’s Yachtdiver are presenting all the toys any yacht owner could possibly wish for with their booths located at the Main Entrance Tent (booth 51) and in the Super Yacht Builder’s Tent with Yacht Chandlers (at booth 708 through 713).
Brownie’s Marine Group super successful new Hookah diving system will be on display, featuring the Brownie’s Third Lung VS335 – the all battery driven portable and floating dive compressor friendly to the environment.
Also on display will be the new Triton 3300/3. The submarine will be located at the VIP entrance adjacent to the Pavillion.
Remember that the Triton Subs are also the ones making the Triton 36000/3 Submarine.
This is the submarine that we would recommend those with ambitions of going to the deepest of depth on earth. Indeed this submarine is even capable of going all the way down to the bottom of the Mariana Trench some 36000 feet below the surface. And we can think of at least one notable person who might want to sit up and listen and perhaps come study this undersea craft.
The presentation of the Triton 36000-3 at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show marks its debut on the market.
The Triton series of deep submersibles, in four models, represent the only submersible designs in the world today developed specifically to meet the requirements of yacht based use.
Spectacular visibility, extraordinary surface stability and excellent freeboard coupled with state-of-the-art technology make the ABS-certified Triton the safest, most comfortable and most advanced deep submersible in the sea.
Often imitated, but never equaled, the Triton is unashamedly built with extreme attention to detail by a group whose collective 331 years experience in the civil submarine business is unequalled.
After all, you wouldn’t want to take your loved ones to 1000 meters in a cheap, poorly constructed submarine, would you?
The world’s most advanced submarine company, Triton Subs, and high pressure glass fabricator Rayotek Scientific, have joined forces to design a full ocean depth submersible that will revolutionize man’s relationship with the deep ocean.
With a planned descent rate of 500 feet per minute, the deepest spot in the ocean, at 35,800 ft., can be reached in approx. 75 minutes.
The Triton 36,000 Full Ocean Depth Submersible’s pressure hull utilizes Rayotek’s patented manu-facturing process and proprietary technologies to produce a sphere of high-strength specialty glass.
Glass has been successfully used in deep submergence for more than 40 years and some spheres have been rated to almost 30,000 ft. (9,000 meters).
Rayotek’s proprietary technology is capable of overcoming previous manufacturing limitations and producing perfect spheres of sufficient diameter to accommodate three occupants. By incorporating no metallic elements or through hull penetrations in the pressure boundary, the design takes advantage of the fact that up to a very high limit, glass becomes stronger with greater compression.
The Triton is designed for both scientific and commercial work, and requires a minimum of support equipment and personnel.
All life support is internal to the pressure hull and control and monitoring functions are carried out by wireless fiber optic systems that transmit light through the glass hull as projections on the inside walls controlled with touch-screen functionality. The glass is
protected from point impact by internal and external acrylic sheaths.
PRESS RELEASE
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., October 17th, 2011 — Brownie’s Marine Group, Inc. (OTCBB:BWMG), a leading developer, manufacturer and distributor of highly specialized dive and safety products, announced today that it had entered into joint venture arrangement with Pompano Dive Center (“PDC”) in Pompano Beach, Florida.
The joint venture will place Brownie’s unique and highly innovative dive systems in one of the most active boating and diving communities in the country. The Pompano Dive Center will also act as a training and demonstration site for Brownie’s products; PDC also offers complete SCUBAPRO and HALCYON product display and service. Alongside the retail store, PDC owns and operates several dive boats in Pompano Beach, Florida at the Sands Harbor Marina on the Intracoastal Waterway at the intersection with Atlantic Boulevard and within view of the beach. A classroom for training divers on Brownie’s dive systems enhances the value of the PDC joint venture for Brownies and diving enthusiasts.
Robert Carmichael, CEO, stated: “We are enthusiastic about the potential of adding another great exposure point and the first full-time experience center to our vertically integrated plan. The new battery powered ‘VS’ dive system is causing many boating enthusiasts to embrace hookah diving as their primary dive method. The outstanding performance and convenience of the VS dive system is making hookah diving mainstream. We believe that the VS will provide a boost to the more mature SCUBA industry by bringing in new divers. The relationship with PDC will provide in-water instruction and demonstration dives. The adage ‘OTIWATO’ (One Test Is Worth a Thousand Opinions) rings particularly true as we witness snorkelers and veteran scuba divers alike, return from their first VS experience, they are amazed at the sensation of minimal gear, incredible performance, and great mobility.”
Mr. Carmichael continued: “To further increase our sales force skill, the Pompano Dive Center will serve as the training and demonstration site for Brownie’s Marine Group dealers and distributors globally. Here we will invite new and current dealers to test our groundbreaking technology as we shape the new sports category of recreational hookah diving. In a sense, this is a coming home for Brownies. Brownie’s originated as a company in Pompano Beach in 1969. It is fitting that a new chapter for our company begins here.”
Jeremy Jarosky, Pompano Dive Center CEO stated: “I would like to echo Robert’s enthusiasm, as we have long admired the commitment to quality at Brownies Marine Group. We are proud to be a part of the Brownie’s Team and look forward to adding significant visibility to diving and the underwater world and making it more accessible to everyone.”

The US Powerboat Show in Annapolis is in its second day today and Brownie’s Marine Group is present here following up with a new booth from the US Sailboat Show that finished Monday.
Rain has visited the show especially yesterday, which was not too inviting for visitors to the show, but still interest for the VS Third Lung in particular runs high and it seems that we have great opportunities to explore further in that market.
Robert has sent us some images of rainy mornings before the crowd started to come in.

It is the last day today of this year’s United States Sailboat Show in Annapolis.
Robert Carmichael, CEO of Brownie’s Marine Group, who together with his wife Robin, has represented Brownie’s Marine Group at our booth there, reports of great interest once again for the revolutionary VS Third Lung:
“The VS is awesome at the show. We are booking orders each day at the show”, Robert Carmichael reported in a brief communique last night.
And this is no wonder. Sailboat owners have a great need for cleaning the hulls of the sailboats during the season when the boats are in the water. Probably as often as once every fortnight a hull cleaning is necessary in order to prevent build up of algae, barnacles and whatnot. The cleanup is necessary for all boats, but especially those sailboats that participate in races will appreciate a completely clean hull, so that the boat cuts through the water more efficiently and speedily.
Sailboat owners also appreciate that the VS is all battery powered, whereby they avoid having to deal with hazardous fuel. This is a great benefit both from a safety point of view, but also when considering storage requirements and possible nuisance from spills and smells, the all battery powered VS Third Lung Hookah diving system is the right choice. “It has such a small size which is great for stowing it away on any boat, and yet is so powerful that it will meet with most applications you would need a hookah diving system for. And remember it also is available in a tiny Hand Carry version or in built in boat versions”, added Mikkel Pitzner from Brownie’s Marine Group.
Like stated in the beginning of this post, it is the last day today of this year’s United States Sailboat Show in Annapolis, so if you have not yet been to visit us there and if you are in the neighborhood, hurry on down to see us.
